The plugin includes free AI usage out of the box. No API key, no account, no setup required. No other copilot gives you free AI access after purchase.
How It Works
Two free-tier slots are available in Settings > AI Models > Free tab. Each slot connects to a real AI model. Just select a slot and start prompting.
Slot 1 - Blueprints Lab 1.1
- Uses a capable chat model
- Generous token allowance with automatic daily reset
- Best for: general prompting, Blueprint generation, project questions
Slot 2 - Blueprints Lab 0.9
- Has a model picker dropdown with multiple options
- Generous token allowance with automatic reset
- Best for: trying different model styles
Selecting a Free Slot
- Go to Settings > AI Models
- Click the “Free” tab in the Provider Mode section
- Choose Slot 1 or Slot 2
- For Slot 2, optionally pick a different model from the dropdown
- Click “Save Slot”
Token Limits
The free tier offers the most generous free AI usage of any UE5 copilot. Token usage is tracked per license. When the allowance is used up, it resets automatically. The plugin shows the remaining allowance in the UI.
When to Bring Your Own API Key
The free tier is designed to let you use the plugin productively from day one. For heavy usage, extended sessions, or access to specific premium models (GPT-4, Claude Opus), you can bring your own API key. See AI Providers for setup.
