Account, License and Devices
Activating the plugin, the Account screen, moving to a new computer, switching licenses and what the plugin sends to our servers.
Account, License and Devices
You activate once per computer. After that the plugin checks in with our server in the background, and you don’t think about it again.
This page is for the moments you do: a new PC, a different license, a question about your data.
Activating
Activation appears inside the CoPilot panel until it succeeds. Two tabs:
- Website Purchase. Paste your license key (
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) and click Activate License. - FAB Marketplace. Type your Fab email and your order ID (
Aplus 16 digits) and click Submit Order. Fab orders are verified with Fab first, which usually takes a few minutes.
Step-by-step: Getting Started.
The plugin needs an internet connection to activate and to check your license from time to time.
The Account screen
Click Account near the bottom of the rail.
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| YOUR STATS | Your activity, if usage data sharing is on. Links to your public profile |
| HOSTED ALLOWANCE | Your plan, the tokens left and any extra tokens from packs |
| YOUR OWN KEYS | Usage on your own API keys and coding agents, by provider and by project. Stays on this machine |
| DEVICES | The machines using your license, when your license type tracks them |
| CREDENTIAL | How you’re signed in, and the buttons to manage or switch it |
Manage account and Manage plan open your account on gamedevcore.com. Get more tokens opens the shop.
Moving to a new computer
- Install the plugin on the new machine. See Getting Started.
- Activate with the same license key or Fab order.
Copying the activation file between machines doesn’t work. It’s tied to the computer, so the new one has to activate on its own.
Activation says you’ve reached the device limit? Free the old machine on gamedevcore.com/manage-devices. Sign in with your license key or Fab order ID, click Deactivate next to the old device, then activate again.
Activated, but the AI keeps failing while the old machine is still open? Your license may be busy there. Close the editor on the old machine. Or open Account > Devices on the new one and click Release next to the old device, when that card is shown.
Switching to a different license
- Open Account.
- In CREDENTIAL, click Switch account.
- Click Sign out and re-enter.
This deletes the stored credential on this machine and brings back the activation screen. Have your key or order ID ready.
Signing out doesn’t free the machine on our side. If you’re handing the license over, release the device on Manage Devices too.
When you’ll need to activate again
- You deleted the plugin’s data folder (
%LOCALAPPDATA%\UltimateCoPilot\). - You renamed the computer.
- You changed the Windows user account you work in.
Updating or reinstalling the plugin never needs a new activation.
What leaves your machine
The first-start window, Before you start, lists it. In short:
| What | When |
|---|---|
| License and device ID | Always. The device ID is random. It isn’t made from your hardware, username or machine name |
| Your prompts | Only to the AI you picked: ours, a provider you connected with your own key, or nobody at all for a local model |
| Usage data | Only if you said yes. Which tools run and what gets created. It powers your stats and Learn lessons |
| Crash reports | Only when you choose to send one |
Change the usage data choice any time in Settings > Preferences > Share usage data. Turn it off and your Learn progress still syncs, but lessons stop completing themselves.
Usage on your own keys is counted on your machine only. It’s never uploaded.
Crash reports
If the editor crashes, the plugin asks on the next start whether to send a report. Nothing is sent unless you say yes, and attaching the conversation is a separate choice.
License terms
Licenses are per seat: one seat per developer. The full terms are at gamedevcore.com/terms.
